Privacy Policy
Egerton Capital Partners respects your privacy. This policy tells you, in plain terms, what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. We collect personal information in two places only: when you fill in our contact form, and when you subscribe to our email list. We do not sell your data, and we only use it for the purposes described below. This policy is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who We Are
This website is operated by Egerton Capital Partners (Pty) Ltd, a Proprietary Limited (Pty) Ltd registered in South Africa under registration number 2077946268, with its registered address at 47 Du Toitspan Road, 8300 Kimberley, South Africa. We are the "responsible party" for the personal information described in this policy, as that term is defined in POPIA.
If you have any question about how we handle your information, contact us at [email protected] or +27 53 461 5068.
What We Collect Through the Contact Form
When you use the contact form to ask us about our financial consulting services, we ask you for your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message you type. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to prepare a proposal for consulting services. We do not add contact form submissions to any marketing list unless you separately opt in.
- Name and surname
- Email address
- Phone number, if you choose to provide it
- The content of your message
What We Collect Through Email Subscription
If you subscribe to our email updates, we collect your email address and, where you provide it, your first name. We use this to send you newsletters, market commentary, and updates about Egerton Capital Partners's services. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also unsubscribe by emailing [email protected].
Why We Are Allowed to Process This Information
POPIA requires a lawful basis for each way we use your information. We rely on the following:
- Consent — for email subscriptions, and for any contact form fields marked optional.
- Legitimate interest — to respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form and to maintain records of client communications.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep records under financial services or tax legislation applicable in South Africa.
Hosting and Third Parties
Our website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which processes data on our instruction as an operator under POPIA. We use an email service provider to manage newsletter subscriptions and deliver emails. We enter into appropriate agreements with these providers to ensure your information is protected to the standard POPIA requires, whether they are located in South Africa or abroad. We do not share your information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies
This website uses cookies. Full details of what each cookie does and how you can control them are set out in our separate Cookie Policy. In summary, we use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work, and, only with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies.
How Long We Keep Your Information
- Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond to and resolve your enquiry, and thereafter for up to 5 years for record-keeping purposes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Email subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Where South African financial services or tax law requires longer retention of specific records, we retain those records for the legally required period.
Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Be told what personal information we hold about you and why
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request that we correct or update inaccurate or outdated information
- Request that we delete or destroy personal information we no longer have a lawful basis to hold
- Object to our processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing that already took place
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we have handled your information unlawfully
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] or write to us at 47 Du Toitspan Road, 8300 Kimberley, South Africa. We will respond within a reasonable time and, in any event, within the period POPIA requires.
The Information Regulator can be contacted at [email protected] if you wish to lodge a complaint directly with them.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, and disclosure. These include restricted access to our systems, secure transmission of form data, and agreements with our hosting and email providers requiring them to protect your data to an equivalent standard.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how the website works or if the law changes. The version published on imverto.site is always the current one. We encourage you to check back periodically.
